RYA Adults Sailing Weekend

Get ready to set sail with us from our RYA Training centre at Bradwell Waterside in Essex.

Whether you want to get on the water and learn the ropes or you’re a more experienced mariner wanting a refresher, our summer sailing weekends at the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) Essex Outdoors Bradwell training centre will suit everyone.

This NEW three-day sailing weekend, based on the River Blackwater Estuary on the east coast, has residential and day options available. Depending on where you live and how far you have to travel, you can make a stay of it and enjoy the full experience with us.

Learn to Sail Summer Weekends in Essex

Our Essex based Sailing Weekends are the perfect way for boat loving adults aged 18-and-over to learn the ropes, boost confidence and brush off rusty knowledge whilst having huge amounts of fun.

Whether you want to work your way through the RYA Levels to receive a certificate at the end of the course or have a specific experience gap you’d like to address, our knowledgeable and enthusiastic RYA instructors will work with you in small groups to make sure you get the most of your time on the water. With the experience and teaching tailored to your needs.

This could be honing your helming, strengthening your seamanship, working towards RYA Level 1 to 3 and everything inbetween - from terminology to mooring.

What type of boats do you have?

Time on the water will be spent on Wayfarers (dinghies) and Dufours (keelboats), we may even provide the option to use our Picos (single handed dinghies) that may suit our particularly keen and agile participants!

Residential Stay or Day Options

Pick from residential or day-based options at Essex Outdoors Bradwell, a warm welcome awaits you whatever you choose.

Day Option

The non-residential package allows you the flexibility to come and go at the start and end of each day, after a full morning and afternoon of sailing.

A packed lunch is provided.

Stay Option

Stay at our purpose-built residential centre where you will receive all your meals as part of your booking.

This option includes everything from hearty full English breakfasts and Continental options to start the day, to evening meals including a BBQ on the beautiful waterfront.

It should be noted that accommodation is simple. You will be allocated a ‘dorm’ room for your booking/party for privacy. You will sleep in bunkbeds. Bathrooms may be shared.

The residential option is based on two nights stay.
