Our customers are in safe hands.

We have been working hard to adapt our centres, activities and procedures to ensure best practices are in place, so we can provide safe, fun outdoor programmes for our visitors. Additionally, we’ve been awarded the “We’re good to go” certification from Visit England.

Our COVID-19 policy

We have introduced the following measures to help protect our staff and customers whilst at our centres:

Staff Training

On returning to work our staff teams have;

  •  undergone ECC’s COVID-19 awareness and prevention training course
  • received induction training in new procedures at our sites
  • received first aid refresher training, covering additional considerations and procedures to remain COVID-safe

Centre capacity and group sizes

We have;

  • reduced our maximum activity group size to 6
  • reduced the maximum for shared facilities (e.g. accommodation units) to 6 in line with government recommendations
  • significantly reduced our overall capacities at each centre, to allow for social distancing, enhanced cleaning and rest-time for facilities

Bookings

Our systems allow for completely online and cashless, contactless transactions.
Wherever possible we are strongly encouraging;

  • online or phone bookings
  • electronic or contactless card payment for both groups and individuals

Social distancing measures

To assist with safe queuing, good hygiene practices and encouraging the 2-metre social distancing rules at our centres we have implemented;

  • new signage and floor markings
  • one-way systems and barriers
  • amended entrance and exits for centre buildings and activity stations
  • staff on hand to further guide visitors to social distance throughout stays
  • day groups allocated their own dedicated base for the day

Hygiene measures

We have implemented these additional cleaning and hygiene measures;

  •  more frequent and thorough cleaning of public and high-contact areas throughout the day
  • cleaning of activity equipment before and/or after use
  • hand sanitiser stations located at key locations around our sites and activity areas

Our visitors will be required to;

  • wash their hands fully on arrival, in-between activities and before meals
  • bring all their own bedding and bedlinen, including duvets/sleeping bags and pillows
  • only use the showers and toilets assigned to them for the duration of their stay

Programme changes

In order to maintain social distancing, it has been necessary to make some changes so we can deliver safe and fun programmes;

  • we are not able to run some of our activities which use shared equipment or where adequate social distancing isn’t possible
  • we may occasionally need to shorten activity sessions slightly, to ensure we can stagger lunch breaks, access to toilet facilities and allow extra time for regular hand washing

These measures are subject change in line with any ongoing government guidance.
