Mountain Leader (summer) - Training

This six day training course provides the skills needed to be able to lead groups of walkers in the mountains, hills and moorlands of the UK and Ireland.

This is a hands-on training course that gives potential mountain leaders the opportunity to gain experience and develop technical competence in leading walks in summer conditions. Course content includes group management, navigation, hazards, equipment, expedition skills, weather and more.

The Mountain Leader Award opens up countless opportunities for mountain leaders to scale the length and breadth of the country with many groups of people, from scouts and schoolchildren to outdoor instructors and senior citizens.

Candidates will be eligible for the Mountain Leader Award assessment following this training after a consolidation period.
