Mersea Island Festival

The Mersea Island Festival is an inclusive adventure break that takes place each August at Essex Outdoors Mersea.

The Festival aims to bring together children, young people and adults with or without a physical or learning disability and is ideal for inclusive clubs, groups and families with disabled children and young people. They provide an opportunity to try out new activities, make new friends and have loads of fun!!!

Activities include archery, climbing, art tent, music and dance workshops, crabbing, pitch 'n putt and live entertainment.

Short Break Funding
Funding is available through the Short Breaks for Disabled Children programme to support the cost of the fee for the supporter/carer of a child or young person with a disability attending the Mersea Island Festival as a day visitor.

Children and young people eligible should be aged from 8 to 18 or under at the time of the Festival and live within the administrative boundary of Essex County Council. (Unfortunately this does not include Southend or Thurrock).
