Access to the main building is via a lift to the first floor ~ disabled suite, dining area and lounge.
The disabled suite consists of single bed and disabled shower/toilet room. A separate room for up to 2 carers has a connecting door.
Our dining hall, conference room/classroom, toilets and shower blocks are fully accessible.
Five of our cabins have fully accessible showers/wet room, with shower chairs and toilet support/brace bars.
The main toilet block has a unisex accessible shower/wet room, with shower chairs and toilet support/ brace bars. There are also separate male and female accessible toilets with support/brace bars.
All cabins, the dining room, main hall, training suite and residential block are fully accessible.
The main toilet block has two unisex wheelchair accessible changing/shower rooms - one with a ceiling hoist, the other with a shower table - and two wheelchair accessible toilet/shower rooms. The residential block has a unisex wheelchair accessible toilet/shower. The main building includes separate male and female wheelchair accessible showers and toilets.
A portable hoist is available as well as a hoist for access to the swimming pool.
The building is wheelchair accessible and there is a lift to the first and third floors.
There are two unisex accessible changing areas/cubicles as well as separate male and female wheelchair accessible toilets.
Within Essex Outdoors we have equipment to increase the accessibility of some of our activities to those with disabilities. These include:
- adapted harnesses for rope activities
- Landeez wheelchairs for access to the beach
- BOMA All Terrain wheelchair
- Puma Handcycle
The equipment is stored at different centres across the service. Please speak to the centre you are booking with prior to your visit so that arrangements can be made to ensure the equipment is available to you during your stay.
