For Schools and Groups

As a school or group, explore our residential and day trip options. Essex Outdoors Danbury can cater for groups of up to 450, with a variety of options for accommodation. Including log cabins, wooden pods and camping in large patrol tents.

Log cabins

Our recently renovated cabins provide a great alternative to tented accommodation. Heating and electricity allow you to keep warm while you rest or work, and all of the cabins are equipped with separate leader quarters, wet room and porch.

We have 5 cabins which sleep 8 in the main room, plus 2 in the leader’s room; and 5 cabins which sleep 10 in the main room, plus 2 in the leader’s room.

In addition, five of our cabins have fully accessible showers/wet rooms, with shower chairs and toilet support/brace bars.  Our toilet and shower block also has a unisex accessible shower/wet room, with shower chairs and toilet support/brace bars, as well as separate male and female accessible toilets with support/brace bars.

Camping pods

11 cosy camping pods, perfect for those looking for a camping experience with a bit more comfort than under canvas. Each has heating, power and sleep 4 or 8 in bunk beds.  Dedicated and accessible toilets and showers are in a separate block, adjacent to camping pods.

Tents

Groups looking for the traditional camping experience can hire our tents and equipment, and have food supplied, at surprisingly low prices. You’ll also have access to your own dedicated marquee for meeting, eating and socialising in during your stay.

Alternatively, recognised groups and organisations may make use of our site for self-contained camping. Additional marquees, ranging in size from 12′ x 12′ to 80′ x 40′, are also available to hire on-site.

Dining hall

As part of our recently renovated facilities we have a dedicated dining hall and permanent professional catering kitchens. This can seat 80 guests around tables or 100 in a theatre-style setup. It is fully equipped as a dining area, function room, and social area. For larger groups we can provide additional seating for a further 80 diners in an adjacent fully serviced marquee.

Conference facilities

Our two welcoming and comfortable conference areas include air-conditioning, WiFi, large screens with HDMI connection, and dedicated WC’s, as well as flip charts and whiteboards.

The smaller and larger rooms seat  15-20 and 30-45 around tables or in a theatre-style respectively. Our dining hall can also be set up for larger conferences of 80-100 on request.
