As part of your Gold Award you will need to complete the expedition section of the scheme. We will support your expedition in Morocco ensuring it meets the requirements of the Gold Award scheme.
We offer the training, practice and qualifying venture as a complete package to get you through the expedition section. If you and your group are looking for someone to facilitate your expedition then this is for you.
You will take four days and three nights to journey through the mountains working together and gaining new skills and experiences to take forward into the future.
We begin in magnificent Marrakech before beginning a circular trek through the mountains and climbing Jebel Toubkal the highest peak in North Africa.
The group will be supervised by a local guide throughout the expedition phase, who will ensure that the group travel safely through the mountains. This expedition is very strenuous, in particular on day 2 where the group will encounter the infamous 72 hairpins! The reward for all of this effort is the magnificent vista of the Toubkal National Park and ultimately the unbelievable view from the summit of Jebel Toubkal, North Africa’s highest peak, standing at 4,197metres. Throughout the expedition the group will overnight at refuges located along the route and will have the opportunity of replenishing fluids and grabbing much needed rest! Though basic, the refuges are sight for sore eyes at the end of each strenuous day.
The group will return to Imlil on completion of the expedition and will have the opportunity to recuperate at one of the fantastic riads located there.
