Essex ActivAte scheme
School’s out, but you’re in luck.
Essex ActivAte is the new Holiday Activity and Food programme run by Active Essex in partnership with Essex County Council and funded by the Department for Education.
Essex Outdoors is proud to be partnering with Active Essex to deliver FREE* action-packed activity days from our Harlow and Mersea centres during the summer holidays. There is no better way for 8-16-year-olds to try exciting new experiences in the outdoors! In groups of around 10, your child can take part in up to four fun and challenging activities each day – ranging from archery, mountain biking, orienteering and bushcraft.
They’re in safe hands – our professional instructors provide constant supervision, and all technical equipment is supplied. Participants just need to bring comfortable (and waterproof!) clothing and footwear and a drink.
And depending on which centre and session you book, a nutritious hot lunch or evening meal will be provided by our catering team, all for free*.
Good to know…
*Please note to qualify for our free ActivAte days, you must be able to show you are currently be receiving benefits-based Free School Meals.
We’ve made some changes to our usual activity programmes and how we run them, as well as around our centres in light of COVID-19 – more information can be found here.
Our 4 centres are all Children’s University Learning destinations and any visits to Essex Outdoors can be counted towards your learning hours – just bring along your learning passport.
As we are not required to be Ofsted registered or inspected, we aren’t able to accept childcare vouchers as a method of payment for any of our products.
