• If you have COVID-19 symptoms – fever, cough, sore throat – please do not travel to the wall.
• Please don’t climb if you are living with a vulnerable person.
• You must pre-book and pay for a slot online. Climbing and bouldering will be restricted to a 2 hour slot for the time being and slots are not movable or refundable.
• Climbers are asked to only book a single slot. We understand that climbing is a social event but in an effort to mitigate COVID-19 transmission we are limiting the exposure time of our customers by reducing attendance time, however a climbing and a bouldering slot may be booked one after the other.
• Roped climbing and bouldering must be booked separately. Roped climbing capacity is 30, bouldering is limited to 6 per slot.
• Climbing and bouldering slots are for experienced climbers only – We are currently not able to provide supervision or instruction for novice climbers of any age.
• Please remember to bring your own climbing kit – we will not be hiring equipment to customers for a while.
• Remember, floor space is at a premium, bags won’t be permitted in the wall, so try to minimise what you bring!
• We will not be accepting cash payments while you are onsite.
• A one way system has been introduced within the main building. Please follow the arrows and guidance.
• Use the hand sanitising station on arrival.
• Toilets will be limited to 1 person at a time so plan accordingly.
• Please sign in at the desk before entering the wall.
• There is now an entrance door and a separate exit door in the wall.
• We must stress the importance of cleaning your hands as soon as you have completed each and every climb. Sanitiser will be available within the wall for your convenience.
• Please respect other climbers’ social distance. Do NOT climb on a rope immediately adjacent to an active rope.
• Please be prudent when your time slot is finished and leave the wall quickly so we can accommodate more climbers. Staff will be on hand to advise and assist.
• The centre is being cleaned by our cleaner, on a daily basis. Additionally, staff will also be decontaminating ‘high use’ areas 3 times a day.
• Staff will be wearing gloves when on the desk and in the coffee shop.
• Only disposable cups, utensils and cutlery will be used in the coffee shop for the foreseeable future. All items will be 100% recyclable.
• The extraction fans will be working throughout operating hours to remove air from the main wall.
• Along with all Essex Outdoors centres, we’ve gained the ‘We’re good to go’ certification from Visit England
